AWK07 Transition

Transition painting was my final work in the United Kingdom before moving to Ireland in 2013. Its completion came the night before my mothers burial, the owl on the bottom right, it was added after being woken from my sleep to go to the painting and add the bird, and for me it represents my mother watching over me.The painting was originally concieved to house a holy relic of St. Brigid that was given to me by friend priest who had collaborated on 3 of my books. There are different aspects of the Triple Goddess within the art, the darker Morrigan is shown as 3 ravens at the base of the artwork. The Triple-Goddess represents the divine feminine in three aspects: Maiden, Mother, and Crone. These three figures are often associated with the phases of the lunar cycle (waxing, full, waning) and the stages of a woman's life , can be found throughout the myths of Celtic lore.
