AW08 Tara

I began work on a painting of Tara, the goddess of universal compassion who represents virtuous and enlightened activity,  when  I first came to the West of Ireland in 2013 and for a few weeks the energy and inspiration flowed well, but then stopped and the urge to restart would not reignite until 6 months later and my arrival for a 2 month exhibition on the Hill of Tara. Sometime before the period  of inaction  someone had    mentioned  that Tara, Brigid, Kali, Kuan Yin and the American Sky Woman  all had links with ravens and hares, though not entirely sure of the truth of the links, I decided to incorporate them anyway as I have learnt to trust and go with the direction.                                     .      
That two month exhibition as stretched to 11 years and totally transformed my life.  I always  say to people who visit Hill, not come with preconceived ideas of what to expect, just be open and let Tara surprise you.
