AW07 Transition
This painting was my final work in the United Kingdom before moving to Ireland in 2013. Its completion came the night before my mothers burial and the owl on the bottom right was added after being woken from my sleep and for me represents my mother.
The painting was originally started to house a relic of St. Brigid at the centre that I had been given by a priest who had worked with me on 3 books. . .
There are different aspects of the Triple Goddess within the art, the darker Morrigan is shown as 3 ravens at the base of the artwork. The Triple-Goddess represents the divine feminine in three aspects: Maiden, Mother, and Crone. These three figures are often associated with the phases of the lunar cycle (waxing, full, waning) and the stages of a woman's life, can be found throughout the myths of Celtic lore.
